- MISSIONARY TRIPS -

' Mission' conveys the Biblical idea of 'being sent', classically expressed in Jesus saying, 'As the Father has sent me, I am sending you' (John 20:21).

The Church's mission encompasses everything that Jesus sends His people to do as His representatives.

Missions are an important part of Church of the Holy Child where we seek to make a difference in our county, our country and the world. Father Keen believes that when a parish has a vision for the Gospel that is bigger than itself, people are drawn to it and individual parishioners and the parish grow.

Honduras Missionary Trip

In 2005 we established an ongoing, companion relationship between Church of the Holy Child and St. Mary the Virgin, located in the small country village of Rancho del Obispo, Honduras. Since that time Holy Child families have been paired with St. Mary's families in prayer/companionship relationships; children have been blessed through VBS and Sunday School curriculem; St. Mary's parishioners have been prayed for and taught about inner healing through prayer; a building has been constructed; a chapter of the Daughter's of the King has been established at St. Mary's; and so much more.

Our goal is to come along side the parish in Honduras to help them reach their vision and goals.

The 2008 mission team experienced healings, decisions for Christ, joy and excitement while ministering in Rancho del Obispo. Through the efforts of Church of the Holy Child the lay pastor's home was completed this year and the falling down roof of the church was repaired. They rejoiced with the families in this small village that for the first time are getting electricity installed.
